Celebrating Excellence: The Women in Poker Hall of Fame Announces 2024 Induction Candidates
The Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF) has unveiled its esteemed list of candidates for the Class of 2024, highlighting the impactful contributions of women in the dynamic world of poker. This year’s nominees represent a diverse array of backgrounds, from high-stakes professionals to influential industry figures, as well as dedicated broadcasters who help bring the game to a wider audience.
Honoring Achievements in Poker
In its announcement, WiPHoF describes the nominated women as "heavy hitters in the industry" who have rightfully earned a nod for their dedication and accomplishments within the poker community. This year saw nearly 50 remarkable women nominated, which underscores the significant roles women play in this traditionally male-dominated arena. After extensive review and thoughtful deliberation, the organization has narrowed down the nominations to just eight deserving candidates, all of whom have made notable impacts in various facets of the game.
The Voting Process
Voting for this year’s nominees is currently open and will continue until October 30. Both the living members of the hall, alongside a media and industry voting panel comprising eight members, will cast their votes for induction. Each voting member has a total of 10 votes, which they may allocate entirely to one candidate or spread across several nominees, allowing for a democratic selection process.
In a unique twist, the public is also invited to participate in the voting, enabling poker enthusiasts worldwide to have their say and act as an integral part of the voting panel. The excitement culminates in November when the Class of 2024 will be officially announced. The induction ceremony is scheduled for December 11 at a to-be-determined location in Las Vegas.
